This AI product is used for church priests to quickly produce a sermon based on the current day's readings. I helped build an intuitive user flow & interface which is geared towards priests and pastors to easily use and navigate through our product.
Task
I was tasked with creating an intuitive, user-friendly interface specifically designed for Catholic church preachers and priests. This product leverages AI to help generate sermons based on the preacher’s notes and daily readings, with the AI providing both draft content and summaries for presentation. My responsibilities included designing the user flow, interactions, information hierarchy, layout, and overall branding for the entire product.

Goals
Streamline the user experience by producing an intuitive interface that allows the user to input information, along with get the information needed to present a sermon.
Intuitive Interface: Information is clearly organized using familiar components and interactions to enhance overall usability.
User Interactions: Users can input notes and relevant details for the AI to generate a sermon. We prioritized making this process as simple as possible, allowing users to either type their notes manually or copy and paste relevant content as needed.
Layout design: Various user journeys were explored, including both a single-page scroll and a step-by-step process, to determine the most efficient and user-friendly approach.
Challenges
Fewer Clicks, Fewer Screens: To make the process as straightforward as possible, we reduced the user journey to just four simple steps.
Niche Demographic: Our users include priests, preachers, and religious individuals seeking to create a sermon or simply learn more. The AI gathers information from user notes and the day’s readings. Recognizing that many users may not be highly tech-savvy, we focused on creating a minimal, easy-to-use flow.
Responsive Layout: Ensure the product functions seamlessly across all devices and screen sizes, while maintaining consistent information and functionality throughout.
Success
After multiple rounds of user flow development and several layout iterations, we arrived at an effective solution featuring an intuitive interface that clearly presents information and guides users toward their goal of producing a sermon. The final design utilizes a step-by-step process, allowing users to focus on one task at a time and avoid feeling overwhelmed. As a result, users found the product easy to use, intuitive, and straightforward.
Design System
My responsibilities included creating and maintaining a specific library of components throughout the mobile app. This involved designing and updating reusable elements to ensure consistency and efficiency across the user interface. To support users in completing their goals more easily, I constructed new components and interactions tailored to their needs. These enhancements were carefully crafted to make the user journey less stressful, more intuitive, and aligned with familiar patterns, ultimately improving overall usability and satisfaction.
Impact
Cohesive User Experience: A clean and consistent layout across all devices (desktop and mobile) is fundamental to our information architecture, presentation, and overall user experience. This consistency builds trust with our existing user base of thousands and attracts new users and companies daily.
Optimized Discovery: The homepage/landing page serves as a critical touchpoint for promotions and product discovery. We ensure a seamless experience across all devices, treating mobile optimization with the same importance as the desktop version. This empowers users to effortlessly continue selling or shopping anytime, anywhere.
Engaged User Base: We understand the importance of keeping users engaged. To achieve this, we introduce new features almost monthly, while continuously refining existing layouts to incorporate these additions and effectively present the ever-growing amount of information.
