Creating a personalized Gamer Social Media "Hub" for gamers from all platforms to connect and compete with each other.
Create a community of gamers that will help each other build skill. Meet people that want to really play the game. Form teams, make friends, join a guild.
- Overview -
Problem
Gamers don’t have an official central platform to share interests and represent themselves or their team. With the growth of the gaming population, building a community of gamers to connect and play with in a fun and yet serious gaming environment will help keep track of your connections with other players
Solution
My solution, is the “Guild Vault” app. A social media app for gamers. Gamers will be able to join and compete as a “guild” or team which will be ranked from all over the world while also building clout.
With the growth of the gaming population, building a community of gamers to connect and play with in a fun and yet serious gaming environment, would be ideal for future gaming. Gamers will be able post images and video clips directly from their phone or video game system for others to view.

Competitive Analysis
For the start of the discovery phase, I looked at different websites and apps that gamers love to use for any gaming related topics. The top 3 apps/websites that gamers love to use are twitch, discord and reddit. I also looked into the top social media sites such as instagram and twitter, so that I can get a better understanding of a user’s behavior towards social media and the correlation to gaming.
Personas
Once I’ve obtained survey results, I created personas based on my research findings which will help me focus on my core target audience. I created 3 Personas, each with slightly different needs and goals. I created 3 personas based on my research. Bryan, Kelly, & Chris are all gamers, whether they play casually or professionally, they all share the same love for video games.
- Develop -
Once I've gathered all the necessary information and data to create the app, it was time to start building. To help supplement my structure and design for the app I created the following: a user flow, hand-drawn wireframes, a site map, digital wireframes, the design, prototype, and high-fidelity prototype.

Questions and tasks:
1. Account creation
2. Play with a friend!
3. Look for a group to play with!
4. Join a Guild!
Results:
- Account creation seemed a bit overwhelming with many tasks to complete. Shorten or spread out the onboarding process.
- Users found "Play with a friend" a confusing for not recognizing the icons & different sections of the app. Some icons need to be changed or labeled so that users can successfully navigate through the app.
- Once users got familiar with the app, they were successful in finding the "Party" section of the app and joining a party.
What I learned
In order to make this app intuitive and helpful for gamers, I need to dive deeper into the topic of “Gamer Social Media” and conduct more research, gain more in-depth results, and develop more iterations until I have satisfied users. I want to help bring gamers together in a familiar and exclusive community for gamers. No judgement, just sharing your epic moments with fellow gamers.
